Wayne Simmonds’ postgame thoughts…
(on the importance of a 4-0 road trip…)
SIMMONDS: “Definitely, especially with the playoff race being as tight as it is right now, we need every point we can possibly get. We came out on this road trip and we took all eight points. This is huge.”
(on his goal…)
SIMMONDS: “I just jumped off the bench. Kopi had the puck and I yelled for him and he looked right at me. I just wanted to get it off as quick as possible, and luckily it went in.”
(on being able to play well in tight games…)
SIMMONDS: “I think, since last year, we haven’t made very many mistakes after going into the third period with the lead. Tonight, we gave up a goal, which we would like back, but we came out unscathed and we got the two points, and that’s huge. That’s the way playoff hockey is going to be, and we’ve been in playoff mode for a little while now.”
From the dept. of redundancy dept., Weird night out of 9 games that have gone final 7 road teams have won and Phx. is leading with 7 min. left in 3rd. on the road.

Calgary loses pushing them two more points away from us. Chicago now drops behind Phoneix.

@KC23, It’s still really tight. All the favorites won, so the Schmucks are still hanging in the weeds.

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?, Ducks still have an excellent shot at getting in. They have games in hand. Worst part about the Ducks chances is they have to play us twice.

@KC23, Back-to-back nights, too. It’s gonna be a WAR!
Watched the game with on the Nashville telecast. They were giving LA all the credit for controlling the puck. That being said Bernier was huge making several big saves from the middle of the ice in the 1st giving us a chance to take control of the game. Love our goalltenders.

@Slim, dont worry about other teams we just to win 10 more games and we are in with a better record than last year

the Flames are now boned. they have to get 15 points (roughly) in 10 games, more specifically, they can only really afford 2 regulation losses in their last 10 games. after playing COL on tuesday they have a 4 game trip. ANA, LA, SJ and EDM. so it looks like they could be very well be written off after this road trip. lol.

@Newf, Yeah and they are missing Moss and Morrison; loose 3 straight.

Calgary losing and Nashville staying put give the Ducks a better chance of making to playoffs. As much as I dislike the Ducks I still think it would be pretty cool to have all the Pacific Division teams in the playoffs.
