I think come playoff time, I’d like to see a first line of Penner, Kopitar and Brown. Get the geezer line rolling again. for some reason, I like seeing Kopitar and Brown playing together. Both lines would have three 20+ goal scorers.

@Stone, If Penner, Williams and Kopitar keep playing like last night, don’t count on it.

@KC23, I also like the fact that five out of those top six guys, have a positive +/-, and Stoll is only -2. how many teams have every player on their top two lines as 20+ goal scorers AND responsible defensively?

@Stone,
To me, Kopitar and Brown just do not go together. Why would you want to break up this line when the chemistry is really starting to develop? The only thing worse than Kopitar and Brown together on the first line is Westgarth on any line. Actually it would bother me less to see Westgarth playing than to see Brown and Williams switched on the first line. Wouldn’t put it past Murray though, so you may get your wish…

@LAPD line, I really wish that line from last night could play like that every night… but what are the odds we’re that lucky?

@Stone,
I agree with you. Might get better over all production out of both lines. Who’s to say that Brown won’t work there when he’s spent most of the season with Kopi already, and we haven’t even seen him up there yet. It’s all guess work right now, but I would like to see TM try it a few times before the playoffs, instead of waiting till we hit a wall and need a change. If it doesn’t work at least you know, if it does you have a legitimate 2nd option.

@schlocktober, wow!! I hadn’t thought of that. Sooooo cooooool. Love #11. His defensive game has taken off so much this year I never really worried about his goal scoring but, it is sure nice to see. Like the other poster said earlier, too bad it didn’t happen at home.

Kings history: 1980: The Butch Goring trade began the tradition of trade deadline frenzy
bad trade for the Kings, great for the Isles…
http://thecurseoffrankmahovlich.blogspot.com/2011/02/butch-goring-trade-began-tradition-of.html
the curse of Frank Mahovlich, as most know, is that Toronto hasn’t won The Cup since that trade….

@Real 7, Goring loved being on the winning Isles team and is still working for the team. Too bad we didn’t get over the top.
Maybe Penner will pan out. He doesn’t have as shocking of an adjustment coming to SoCal with a home and Stoll and Greene. He seems to have fit in quite well. And now blending with Anže. I can almost hear Penner call back to friends in Edmonton and say, “It’s not too bad here; if I had to be traded, L.A. was a good place to go.”

loved it
go for Kopi now he woke up
This line is a beauty
Penner-Kopi-Williams line should not be broken up been scoring each game so far been effected most every game

@Slim, yea thanks
Just cheering my team on to victory the Kings will get a cup very soon maybe not this year but next year
But i believe they can get it this year if they work very hard to get it
Love hearing Miller call that last one, it gives me the chills! Haha.

Is it just me, or is the ref in horrible positon on that breakaway goal? I mean, he’s so close to Kopitar, he’s almost funneling him to the net (though maybe that was a good thing, LOL). OTOH, I would think the ref’s position was also a bit of a distraction to Mason. Good thing he scored!

That was fun to watch again. Encore!
