Jonathan Bernier’s postgame thoughts…
(on Columbus’ near-goal on a “pop-up” late in the third period…)
BERNIER: “I tried to jump, and Dewey [Drew Doughty] tried to do the same thing, so we kind of ran into each other. It jumped off Willy’s stick and into the air, and I was just trying to get a glove on it and get a whistle. We got lucky there at the end, but a great job by the guys. It was a one-goal game with about seven minutes left in the game, and we did a good job of shutting them down.”
(on being able to settle in after the first goal…)
BERNIER: “That’s one of those goals I’ve got to have, obviously, but we kept to our game plan and kept playing the same way, and we buried our chances.”
I thought he did fine.

Burnier is a good goalie. He did well. This is what we need, both goalies playing like they have. There is nothing like knowing that whomever we have in net will be up to par. Some of his saves were outstanding.

Great game Bernier way to keep us in there when things got a little crazy. Two huge points.

I also thought he did a good job in nets tonight..
He kept us in it..
That’s what we need from him..

Over the course of a season the bounces kind of even out. What Stolly didn’t get the other night in the crease against dallas Bruessard didn’t get tonight. I liked his mental toughness after that soft goal in the first. Nice two points.

Good job way to give the team a chance to win.

We are so fortunate to have two goalies of this quality.
