Here’s some viewing for the lunchtime hour. First, the latest in the series of “Undisputed” videos takes an in-depth look at Kings captain Dustin Brown. That’s followed by a handful of additional clips from the “GM breakfast,” in which Dean Lombardi and Ron Hextall address the wearing of face shields, the salary cap, the debate of skill vs. size in players and the topic of fighting in the NHL…
Surprised Brown talked about his lisp. Never expected that to come up, but interesting to hear him talk about it.

@What’s the frequency, Kenneth?, Love it. Think twice about running Doughty with Clifford on our bench. Classic

Rich you’re the best. We post a lot but don’t thank you enough for what you bring to us. I know it’s your job but thanks for everything. It’s not always pretty here with comments but we all love you and everything you do for us.

@KFII,
I like how Dean and Hexy —politely, but firmly — gave him what for, and how the crowd backed them up. Subtext: If you’re going to be wuss, go follow tiddlywinks, not hockey.
As for baseball, it used to be a *lot* rougher than it is now. Not only with dugout-clearing brawls, but also pitchers throwing at hitters. Read about the beanball wars that the Dodgers and Giants used to have in the ’50s, and how Sal Maglie used to pitch (his nickname was “The Barber”). Even in the late ’60′s, Don Drysdale and Bob Gibson would be damned if they’d let a hitter own the inside part of the plate, and they probably threw harder than anyone in baseball after Sandy Koufax retired.

Brown is without a doubt are Captain. He’s the ultimate team guy. I liked when he said,”we don’t care who scores, it’s a together thing”. That’s what makes this team so great. It’s a team. Everyone is in this together. I know some of you peeps have been on Brownie’s back, but you can’t argue that we have been better the last 3 years. Yes, this season has been tough. It’s going to get tougher, but with the toughness of Brown being our leader, I’m good with it. We as a club have grown together. We as the fans have grown with them. I feel like through out these last few years we as fans have been able to get to know our guys a lot better. It would serve us all to have Brown be our Captain when we win the Cup. I had a vision of this kid doing just that. I still feel he should be on the first line with Kopi, but I’m not the coach. I just want the best foe him and also his family. It is also good to know that there are still pro athletes who stay married and surports his family. Dude may not be all that flashy, but he sure has enough class to go around all of us. Here’s to you Captain I raise my cup full of Jim Beam to ya___

Brown is a fierce competitor. What he doesn’t have in skill he makes up for in heart. When he was picked for Captain it made a lot of sense. It makes even more now. When he is handed the cup it is truly going to be a great day and another check on the bucket list will be made.

just overall fanfreakintastic!!!thanks rich for giving something to do in class haha

I never knew Brownie even had a lisp! LOL! I thought he just talked a bit funny because he was missing so many of his teeth! Good for him for rising above! It gave me chills at the end just hearing him talking about raising the cup up! OH BOY! My husband and I are GB Packer fans..and wouldn’t it be something to get rewarded the same year with the Lombardi AND the Stanley cup?!
GO KINGS GO!!! Long time fan

@Laura,
Apparently, he was really self-conscious about it as a rookie. And apparently, Sean Avery used to give him hell about it, to the point where some of the veterans felt they had to step in and tell him to lay off.

@Laura,
Go BEARS!! I was born in Chicago. I hate cheeseheads..
But at least we agree on the Kings :]
FTR, I stopped following the Blackhawks at a young age, because the late Bill Wirtz was the worst owner in all of sports. I am a die-hard Kings fan! But I still love my Bears, Bulls, and Cubbies.
