The view from Phoenix

In four previous meetings this season, the Phoenix Coyotes had totaled 15 goals against the Kings, but the Kings were able to keep the Coyotes off the scoreboard Thursday night. There were no Arizona-based reporters at last night’s game, but here are some postgame quotes from the Coyotes’ locker room.

COACH DAVE TIPPETT
(on the game…) “I thought it was a very tight road game. Unfortunately, it seemed like whoever was going to get the first goal was going to win that game. Unfortunately, they got a bounce that went off the shin pad and in, and we couldn’t get the one to tie it. … We played a solid road game. I don’t think there was a ton of chances either way. But we gave ourselves a chance to win. Unfortunately we couldn’t get the one that we needed.”

SHANE DOAN
(on the game…) “Obviously, we got a couple power plays late. We’ve got to find ways to get a goal. That’s really important, and especially with teams (like the Kings). That was the difference tonight. … We had opportunities to win, had opportunities there in the game and we couldn’t find ways to score. Right now, every point is so huge that you have to find ways to get one to give yourself a chance.”
