Bernier: `Quick is number one’

It will certainly be interesting to see which Kings goalie gets the call for tomorrow’s game against Vancouver. Jonathan Bernier is coming off a shutout of Phoenix, but Jonathan Quick stopped 48 of 50 shots in two victories over the Canucks this season (although those were in October, which feels like eons ago). We’ll see what happens after practice today, but Bernier is certainly giving the Kings something to think about, given his recent results, which have included a .943 save percentage in his last eight games. Here’s what Bernier said about his situation, and about his comfort level in games of late…

BERNIER: “Obviously any goalie would want to play more. For me, it’s not something I focus on. Quick and I are here to win some hockey games. Quick is number one and he’s won some tremendous hockey games for us. … I feel much better than the beginning of the season. I think it’s just going to be better every game. For me, I just want to give a good chance for my team to win and a game this late in the season.”
