Red Wings 6, Kings 1

Quick left the game after Detroit’s sixth goal, 5:53 into the third period. Quick made the save on Kris Draper’s wrist shot, but the puck popped in the air. Drew Miller beat Rob Scuderi to the front of the net and knocked the rebound past Quick, who was then replaced by Jonathan Bernier after allowing six goals on 23 shots.

@Doc.B, i’d rather have one really bad night than a few slightly bad ones. that way you get spanked, get your glutes handed to you, and then use that as inspiration to play better the next game. this isn’t the beginning of a kings slump, it’s just one game that i think we’ll bounce back from

Keep in mind that Quick stood on his head in that win against the Wings. This is what happens when goaltending falters and there is no offensive threat.

You see this is WHY we need Westgarth in the lineup! If we had Westgarth in there they wouldnt have scored this many time.
my attempt at humor because theres nothing left to do but laugh….oh and they just scored again from the back side. I miss Westgarth.

Well, tonight is not our night. It was our morning though. Last time we play Wings we won 5-0 in Detroit, i guess it’s payback. I am just little bit upset with so many goals against. Quick should’ve been pulled in 2nd after 3-1.

wow looks like the chemistry is messed up already and penner hasnt even shown up yet, but if stats are right the kings will have a horrible month of march,( winning record in oct, dec, feb, losing record in nov, jan) hopefully that wont happen.

Kings have got better by adding Penner. Penner is someone who will take the money and leave the team. Not about winning a cup. What I heard about Penner is that he is a kind of player you have to push every night to get him just going. I just think Dean fill into the trap. He doesnt want to lose his job so he did what he had to do to get some to fill the LW spot. I know for a fact he lost on the Ilay Kovalchuk sweet steak. If he had offered that same amount for him the Atlanta we would have got him in Kings lineup. He would have never lost him to anyone if he had asked him sign before becoming a free agent, and in return we would have won some cups. I just feel we have gave up way too much for a player who will be good in Kings lineup. I just wise this works out. I”m kind of sad. Dean said MR. T is almost like Matt Green but I feel he’s going to be the next Chara. Chara who can single handleing stop the best player in the world. I wist Mr.T the best of luck. Kings staff and Fans I wise MR. T and first round pick the best of luck and wise Dean made the right choice. Kings hockey club and their number one line will be held in check by MR. T one day. Dean will be talked about that at the day.

I wonder if Kompon is taking notes on how to run a PP.
Look at their puck movement, skaters are moving creating open lanes to the net giving them great scoring chances.
They never settle for a shot from the point and that is ALL we ever do.
All they’re movement has us scramling around chasing the puck making our PK look bad.
The fact is that’s how good they’re PP is because our PK is very strong.
I HATE the Wings but they’re soooo skilled and amazing to watch.

After doing some research now I understand what Dean did to make Kings a better club. Penner is 40 goal score with Kopi on his line. MR. T will be 5th or 6th D man in the NHL. Dean had to give a little more than anybody would have offered the Oilers but we have to understand other teams are in line to get a player like Penner. I’m sure Dean has talked about signing Penner in the near future for long term. Penner better not betray the Kings like did to the Ducks. I know Kings were not going to get a player in the first round that could step in and help the club. Dustin Penner, Dustin Brown, Kopi looks good to me. I just hope the net stays in place for them to score. Penner who is only 28 years old will be a good player for many years to come if he signs with the Kings. Kings can now get rid of Poni and get another horse on draft day or in the free agent next year. Good deal Penner has another year at 4.25 and we still have another 4 to 6 million next year to spend and Schenn coming in the line up. Kings are only going to get better. Kings will win the cup soon. All this rebuilding and making trades and picks are only going to look good if Kings win the cup. It’s about time we pick and choose and make this team a contender. Dean has to look at who he wants to keep and who to give up to get better now than the future. First big step to get better now. Dean is adding good player to help the young player. Only thing that would make me feel better is if Dean comes clear about what he talked about to Dustin Penner in regard to signing lond term. Dean and Kings coaching staff will only do what’s best for the club. Dean won the knock of the night. Good job GM.
