The Kings took a 2-0 lead 9:50 into the second period. Kyle Clifford battled for the puck along the boards in the Colorado zone, then pushed it back to Alec Martinez at the left point. With Kevin Westgarth running some traffic in front, Martinez’s slap shot beat Elliott.

    3 things happened on that goal… Clifford got moved to 4th line and got an assist, martinez said “beep” you murray, never sit me again, and westy said to all the kings fans, i screened the goalie and created that goal

    Don’t blame the Avs for this win; the Kings came to play. They are doing the little things right and knew that there was pressure after the loss of Sturm to make up for a guy’s absence and proving why they all deserve to stay on this team.

    Pathetic PP. Why do we have 3 guys playing catch with each other up top. Shoot the puck and have 3 bodies down low to make a play. its so disheartening to know that we cant score on 3 minutes of 5 on 3 PP.

    Kings coaching staff and Dean should be watching Milan. Could improve the power play. Former 50 goal man. If plays with Kopi could score some goals. Only at 3 million. Best fit right now. Don’t have to sign him. Mark my words if Dean tries to get Richards for Scheen. It will be the biggest mistake ever.

    @Jesse, Lombardi was pretty clear – it would have to be a top scorer in his prime in order to get Schenn. Basically short of Ovie or Malkin, etc he’s not going anywhere, except maybe to the Calder award ceremony next year…

    Unfortunate that the Avs were doing so well and were going to get Forsberg to give them a final push and then they trade two first round guys for one and fall out of the playoff picture.

    If the Kings don’t get a decent forward to round out the first line and help on that dismal power play then DL needs to go. It’s prob. Not going to happen now that he waited so long and would be reamed out,but if all he has in mind is collecting picks forever, send him packing.
