Simmonds postgame quotes

Wayne Simmonds’ postgame thoughts…

(on breaking out of his scoring drought…)
SIMMONDS: “I just haven’t been getting a lot of bounces, I’ve been going to the net hard and tonight I just was getting bounces, trying to get my shots off quick, and as a result of that, I got two goals.”

(on scoring goals on a variety of plays…)
SIMMONDS: “Obviously we were trying to manufacture chances the best way we know how. I think we did a good job in the neutral zone, turning pucks over. That one goal, that was obviously a nice play by Smytty and Brownie.”

(on winning the first game back at home…)
SIMMONDS: “I think it’s huge. It establishes our game at home. Last time we were at home, we didn’t play too well, so we thought about that and we wanted to put the right mark on it right from the start this time.”

(on the tight Western Conference standings…)
SIMMONDS: “We’re going have to scratch and claw for everything. Whether you get one point or two points, every one is valuable and we just have to come to play every night.”
