Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…
(on winning the first game after the long road trip…)
KOPITAR: “It was really important. Always, after a road trip like that, to come back and get comfortable in this building and on this ice sheet, it was good for our confidence, for sure.”
(on his line, with Sturm and Simmonds, starting to mesh…)
KOPITAR: “It’s pretty comfortable. It’s one of those things where I’ve played with Simmer before and I’ve played with Sturmy a little bit. It takes a little bit of time, just to get the chemistry going a little bit, and knowing what the reads are. Now, I think we’re getting to that point where we’re going to get over the hump. I thought we were creating chances tonight. We had some good things going in their zone, and that’s what we want to build on.”
(on Simmonds’ game…)
KOPITAR: “He was playing really well. He was making plays. he was responsible all over the ice and he got rewarded with two goals.”
(on his empty-net goal…)
KOPITAR: “It’s one of those things where, after a draw like that, especially on the PK, everybody is in there looking for loose pucks. I knew the net was empty, and I just kind of let it go and it worked out.”
Great no-look shot Kopi!

Best short handed goal this season. Glad to see us win by more than 1 goal too.

@Cynic, Better than giving up a game tying goal after Smyth’s bone headed penalty in the offensive zone, with 2min.left in the 3rd. funny man.

Kopi has really grown up. You can tell in his face, size, and demeanor. He’s a man now. I’m proud of how much he has matured.

Time to change the lines…..the last we want is for players to start getting comfortable….thats when complacency sets in.
