Briefly looking ahead to tomorrow, the Kings will host Minnesota in the second of their three “Legends Night” games, in which they will wear the purple-and-gold jerseys. Thursday’s pregame honoree will be former Kings forward and coach Bob Berry, who played for the Kings from 1970-77 and coached them from 1978-81. Berry recently took some time with myself, Nick Nickson and Bob Miller to do some catching up, so you can check out my LAKings.com feature, followed by a two-part podcast and the video feature that recently aired on Fox Sports West…
Berry the architect behind the `Triple Crown Line’

@Jason4Kings,
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Gold and Purple home jersey set for that era, too.

That player pic of Mr. Berry is friggin awesome!!! When hockey players were men and respected each other. Your heads just hanging out there yet they existed for years and years playing like that. Today, you can’t cough on an opposing players helmet without it being a suspension. And look at that face. I bet Mr. Berry was a ripe 35 in that pic lol.

Hi Rich, As a lifelong Kings fan I want to thank you for the pod cast interview with Bob Berry. If you could do more pod casts or interviews with some of the players of that era it would really be appreciated. Maybe a where are they now feature on some of them would be great if possible.

Good thing he was coach during the Triple Crown line era. If another coach was around we may have never known how good they could be.

Yay Bob Berry! #18 really contributed to the Kings back then, both as a player and coach. I always thought highly of him.
