End of second: Islanders 2-0

The Kings went 0-for-2 on the power play in the second period and couldn’t score despite outshooting the Islanders 17-8. The Islanders have a 13-1-2 record this season when leading after two periods.

@KC23, He wouldn’t have done that much really. This was a game lost before the Kings ever got on the ice. They talked about not letting the game get away from them, but you can tell they’re just too tired, and their heads are already back here in LA.

I rarely say this….. but this game is not easy to watch. They haven’t had one really dangerous chance. The Isles could very easily be up by five, save for some missed shots and great saves by Quick.

Hi Var!! Watching the game back here. They were asking Butch (Isles telecast) if you start thinking about being home at this point in such a long road trip and he sort of intimated that that could be the case… cause they certainly don’t seem to be present in body mind and spirit.

I just hope if the Kings miss the playoffs by a point or two they force the team to watch this game in it’s entirety before dismissing them all to the golf tee. It’s one thing to get beat, but quite another to not even bother to show up. Big picture, still a good trip. Bigger picture, these two points should have been pretty much a given for this team and they’re blowing it. Hoping for a storming third period. You can sleep on the plane, boys!

Cheap shots with no response. Not one kings player is into this game. No responses to anything. Dirty hit to kopitar and that player hasnt even been hit. When was the last time you saw a Kings player just bust down the slot without the puck and really crah the cage. That’s a very apparent distinction between the teams tonight. Isles are flying to the net without the puck and it’s opening a lot of room for them.
