The speedy, aggressive Islanders gave the Kings fits for most of the first period, outshot them 11-7 and scored the period’s only goal, as the Kings put very little pressure on Al Montoya. Brad Richardson appeared to be in significant pain after being hit by a shot in the final minute, but was able to skate off the ice after the period.
Terrible. LUCKY to be only down by one… to the Islanders.

@xeropoint,
To me, that’s the issue. Everything about the way the Kings are playing seems to say, “Oh, it’s only the Islanders. No problem.” Last I checked, the Islanders are still an NHL team, which means they’re professionals, too. I’m sick of this team taking games for granted against teams at the bottom of the standings.

what a mess…. we are lucky to get out of there with it just being 1…

Alright lets go into the dressing room and re-group. It is not how you start but how you finish. Go Kings

As predicted. We look like crap. I typically don’t ever go after the coach, but wtf was he thinking scratching Loktionov against a team with that much speed. The Kopitar line with Zues was fine.
And what is with the defense? DD, Martinez and Greene all with glairing mistakes.

Leaving watch party at Leo’s to change the vibe. Perhaps the Kings staff can make sure the locations have at least a majority of digital tv’s b4 scheduling a watch party. Best view in that place seems to be in men’s loo.
