Brown postgame quotes

Dustin Brown’s postgame thoughts…

(on the Islanders’ speed…)
BROWN: “They have some really fast forwards, Grabner especially. He might be one of the fastest guys in the league. They got on our D pretty good, especially early, on the power play. They pressured and we weren’t ready for it, and it resulted in a goal.”

(on the road trip…)
BROWN: “It would have been a great road trip if we got two points. Everyone was looking at this as our major break, and we’re right there. We’ve just got to keep going. It’s hard to sit here and be happy with how we played tonight, but we’ll get home and get some rest and get ready for Anaheim.”

(on whether the Kings had the right attitude in the game…)
BROWN: “You look at that first power play, and I don’t know if we were ready to play. I thought we had a lot of really good chances, at the same time, though. Montoya made some really good saves, especially in the second there. It was a hard game, physically and mentally. We didn’t get the result. That’s the bottom line.”

His last three sentences said it all. Kings should still be proud of that trip, now get home, get some rest, and beat up on the Ducks for 60 minutes on Wednesday.

“They pressured us and we weren’t ready for it, and it resulted in a goal.” Effective, but not literal, translation: we were out-coached.

@BringBackTheShieldJersey, out-coached, out-played, out-hussled and out-to-lunch. They were thinking about home cooking and some lovin.. Not what they are being paid to do. This team still lacks the desire to win.

“Grabner might be the fastest in the league”. Hey Captain Valium, did ya miss all star weekend?

Just because he was fastest at all-star weekend doesn’t make him the fastest in the league.

Mr. Murray, Sure it’s great to play hockey for fun, but this is the NHL. If it’s not fun, you play harder. Sometimes I don’t get your attitude. Grabner was the fastest skater at ALL STAR skills. Quite impressive player. Too bad we couldn’t bring home undefeated trip but these guys had to be burned out.

Can’t just blame the D MR C. It’s a team game, maybe the forwards need to help out more at time. Especially when they aren’t scoring themselves.
