Murray postgame quotes

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

(on how he views the shootout loss…)
MURRAY: “I look at the third period, coming back two times, down 2-1, down 3-2. It was a huge response. I was real pleased with that, to get into a tie game at the end and to get into the overtime. Unfortunately, we start the overtime now in a four-minute minor penalty, which…anyway, the guys did the right job.”

(on Bernier’s shootout effort…)
MURRAY: “I hate the shootout. I don’t even watch it. You come in in slow motion. You go east-west, you’re slow. What’s to it? I’d just rather talk about the 65 minutes.”

(on going 8-0-3 in the last 11…)
MURRAY: “We got it together, after a difficult homestand where we let a lot of points slip away on ourselves. The response has been very good. We’ve cut back on those quality chances against. The shots against are coming back down, again, to numbers where we’re used to, and same with the goals against. So we’re really focused on that part of the game, and that’s been the reason why we’ve been able to turn things around. You’ve got to know how to play one-goal games, to win those one-goal games, and the checking is the only way that you can get that job done, when guys are buying into it. Again, we’re doing a good job away from the puck.”

(on Greene’s goal…)
MURRAY: “A lot of hard work. There were good things by Kopitar. Richardson, in particular, getting in and digging the puck out. He took a little bit of a hit, helmet got knocked off. It looked like a highlight goal to me. Get it back up top and Greene pounds it. That’s all you want to do in those situations. Get pucks to the net with some traffic.”
