@Garrett, Simmons and a first? Sure….I wouldn’t give up Schenn though unless its a prime aged player with years left on the contract

@FKA PakiFro,
I agree that we need to keep Schenn as he has lots of potential and is a complete player (and brother of Dougty’s best friend). Simmonds and a first could be enough to get Andrew Ladd out of Atlanta since they are trying to appeal to the Afro-American population in the city. Ladd is younger, grittier, better defensively, and has a cup. Maybe most importantly is that he’s turned into a top line LW, and is a Dean Lombardi type of player.

@Garrett, Bloggers with “inside info” aren’t worth the time it takes to read their musings. And of course an Ottawa blogger is a prime source for an Alberta team

@Garrett, DL wouldn’t do that deal. I’m sure that’s what the Oilers are asking for, but that’s why Simmonds is still a King, and Schenn is still in Saskatoon.

I agreed with @Token assessment that Bernier should have started tonite since Quick has had trouble with Columbus. That being said, it worked out good, and I think most people on this site have confidence in Bernier tomorrow…Go get em Jonny B !

Go JB. God I hate the quacks, especially perry.

I won’t start to worry until we don’t start a Jonathan in net.

Go Bernie!

as lon as the team plays 60 minutes and can get some pp goals we’ll be alright

Bernier has been playing better, this is the kings team i envisioned at the beginning of this season, solid d and two good young goalies, we need more scoring help, mainly a playmaker to pair with kopitar, i would trade simmonds and a first for hemsky or dustin penner but not brayden schenn, i think schenn will be a star in a couple of years.
[Reply]
dump and chase team. JB is just handles the puck better. That is why he is starting.
[Reply]
What is all this Simmonds-and-? trade talk?
Why dish off a guy who helps every line he’s on, who does precisely what he’s told to do, who will eventually get out of his present non-scoring funk, who brings a LOT to the party, and — lest we forget — is a key reason Dewey feels at home with the Kings?
Our team has guys who can score. TM’s system is not conducive to ANY sniper coming here in a trade and suddenly turning things around.
As far as I’m concerned DL can stand pat through the deadline and see how powerful a hand we’ll have once Sturm and Parse return.

@tuan jim, Parse and Sturm aren’t proven, Parse never was and Sturm hasn’t turned it up since the surgery. I hope you’re right but Its hard to say we shouldn’t pull the trigger on a deal. But I agree I want Simmer to stay a King. I’d rather trade Poni or Lewis and Moller.

starting bernier is a mistake aganist the rangers. he should have started last night.

@james wilson, @token gave Quick’s stats vs Columbus and made the same argument and I must say that I felt the same way going into last nights game. That being said, thank god we got the 2 points, and hopefully Bernier will continue his stellar play. Bernier has gotten better as the season has gone along as has Doughty !

This Sucks! I myself and a bunch of other people are coming in from Hamden, CT (Quicks Hometown) down to MSG to see Quick play and Murry does this. 45 people from a youth hockey program bought tickets and got a bus so that they can see Quick play the Rangers. Let Quick play in front of his hometown people, we don’t get too many opportunities to see him play. Come on Murry!

@hamdenhockey, That’s a tough break. I hope you guys at least get to meet him. I’m sure he’ll appreciate the support even if he’s not in net.

wow, can you believe we have the option to play another great goalie and rest Quickie this year? How far we have come!!
