Kopitar postgame quotes

Anze Kopitar’s postgame thoughts…

(on the success on this road swing, so far…)
KOPITAR: “We definitely needed a change, getting on the road like this. I guess, after a pretty poor effort in Pittsburgh, going to Washington — which is a hard building, obviously — and this is a pretty hard building also, coming here and just getting it done, it shows the huge character of this team. It shows us the way we should play each and every night. That’s the challenge right now, but we feel confident within the guys, within the team, that we’re going to do it.”

(on any extra attention to this game, after the loss to the Flyers at Staples Center…)
KOPITAR: “After the All-Star break, we knew we had to get points. That’s just the bottom line. The next game, in Columbus, is not going to be any less important than this one tonight. We just wanted to get two points, and that’s what we were focused on. The focus is going to be for the remainder of the season.”

(on the lengthy penalty kill…)
KOPITAR: “The penalty killers did a great job, and I thought Quickie made some huge stops, obviously. It wasn’t a long 5-on-3, but winning the draw, a couple of draws, and clearing the puck down, it obviously frustrates them and frustrates the crowd. The crowd started booing, and that’s when we felt that we were going to really shut them down, and we just kept going.”
