Jonathan Bernier’s postgame thoughts…
(on rebounding from Ovechkin’s early goal…)
BERNIER: “It was a great shot. What are you going to do? You can’t think about it. You’ve got to move on. He made a great move and cut to the middle and (shot) through Dewey’s legs. It was a good shot and a good move, so what are you going to do? You’ve just got to forget about it.”
(on his good play and the defensive play in front of him…)
BERNIER: “Obviously, I think the team played one of our best hockey games, for sure. I think guys were really willing to pay the price, coming back hard to our zone, and that makes a huge difference for a goalie, that’s for sure.”
(on limiting Washington’s power-play chances…)
BERNIER: “I think we surprised them a little bit with our pressure sometimes on the half wall. I think that was the biggest thing. They like to have a little more time and make those seam passes, but I think our stick was really good. We were blocking shots, and obviously our PK was really on tonight.”
You were really on tonight, way to go Bernie!

Jon Bernier has gotten better as the season has gone along. He is square to the shooter, and his demeanor always looks like he expects to stop the puck. One thing he does better then Quick is his stickhandling is better. Very solid game by Bernier and the team…Congrats Jon.

@puck73, Shrugs. Bernier was just okay. The team play is what kept the Caps down more than anything special I saw from Bernier.

@KC23, that goes for any team, if the team plays good then the keeper looks good. as for bernier, has a solid game

@KC23, Bernier is starting to feel more comfortable in the NHL, you can see it in his play , he is starting to look more like the goaltender i saw play here in manchester last season , that is good news for the Kings, it gives them a solid backup this season to give Quicker some relief so he doesnt get burnt out before the playoffs like last season .. its always great to have 2 good goalies on your team .. not something every team in the league can say.

Good game. Ovi is a good player he’s going to get those goals no matter what or who’s on goal.

Bill who is the goalie coach for Kings can lead this team to the cup like he did when he was with the Oilers. Stoll’s goal against Quick was not a good goal. JB started the game and that was the reason. Quick fits the system because the he plays during a shootout. JB a better goalie during the game. He can handle the puck better. The system allows the goalie to make easy safe. If the goalie can make few stops that are scoring chances. It should reslut in a win.
