Postgame notes (Feb. 10)

Some notes from last night’s game…

— The Kings earned at least one point for a seventh consecutive game, but lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in overtime on Thursday night at Consol Energy Center.

— The Kings are 5-0-2 in their last seven games and have earned six out of a possible eight points to start this run of 10 consecutive road games.

— The Kings are now 4-16-3 this season when scoring two or fewer goals, and 25-6-0 when scoring three or more goals.

— Jonathan Quick stopped 24 of 26 shots and is 5-0-1 in his last six starts. In his last three losses, Quick has allowed a total of five regulation goals.

— The Kings went 0-for-3 on the power play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill, the fifth time in their last six games that they have not allowed a power-play goal.

— The Kings outshot the Penguins 33-26, despite being outshot 11-2 in the second period. The Kings had allowed at least 33 shots on goal in each of their two previous games.

— The Kings are now 12-13-2 on the road, 7-14-3 when allowing the first goal, 1-2 in games decided in the five-minute overtime, 12-8-3 in one-goal games and 8-5-1 against Eastern Conference teams.

— Jarret Stoll scored the Kings’ goal, which tied the game late in the first period. Stoll now has 15 goals in 54 games. Last season, Stoll had 16 goals in 73 games.

— Ryan Smyth assisted on the goal, his second consecutive game with an assist.

— Justin Williams assisted on the goal. Williams ranks second on the Kings with 43 points in 54 games, and has four assists in his last five games.

— Dustin Brown was credited with a team-high five shots on goal. Brown and Jarret Stoll each had a team-high five hits. Rob Scuderi was credited with a team-high four blocked shots.

— Drew Doughty played a game-high 29 minutes, 43 seconds. Anze Kopitar led all Kings forwards in ice time at 25:02.

— The Kings won 21 of 51 faceoffs (41 percent). Anze Kopitar won 4 of 13 draws (31 percent).
