Not exactly the lord of the ring

Yesterday, we talked about Rob Scuderi returning to Pittsburgh for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009. When the Penguins visited Staples Center last season, Scuderi was privately presented his ring by part-owner Ron Burkle, who views in the Los Angeles area. The ring hasn’t really been seen since, so I asked Scuderi if he ever wears it.

SCUDERI: “No. I’m not a jewelry person, so it’s in a bank at home in Boston. That’s about as close as it will get to my finger, I think. It’s something nice that you have, but certainly not something that I keep around the house or, definitely, on my hand.”

I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable wearing a ring with a big ole penguin on it either. Ha Ha!

@deanna, I think it would be great. Have every Kings player look at it and think about how nice it would be to get one with a Kings logo.

I have to admit that is a nice design and looks classy. So many of the NFL or baseball rings are over the top and way to flashy. Hopefully we can see the King’s rings in the near future.

@VanKingsFan, Deslauriers hockey sense is off the charts, he is a natural and is going to be a very solid defensemen in the NHL…money in the bank !. Not bad for a 4th round pick eh ?

It’s in a bank in Boston?? Have you ever seen ‘The Town’? He must not care for it too much!

Scud’s answer was exactly what I exepcted. Humble and to the point. He is definitely one of the reasons why our defense and entire team have improved. His value will become even greater the further we get into the play-offs.

off topic-i heard from espn.com that the kings are looking at Tim Connoly from the Sabers. opinions from everyone…Good or Bad????

@the dude from the southeast, I sure hope not. He has never scored even 20 goals. We have more than enough of his skill level on the team already.

@rick, agreed. Would much rather have Stafford if he is available from the Sabres.

Have to see what the Kings do during the trade deadline. Ducks just made a move and Ryan is coming back today against Vancouver and they took flower who is playing in the nhl. They beat Kings to everything in making moves.

Seems like a waist to be in a bank in Boston. Should be in a case on display in your house somewhere. Ultimate conversation piece for guests, and a major trophy of sorts for a career achievement that most players never achieve.

@Dominick, Hate to say it but probably just a target for thieves at home on display.
