Justin Williams’ postgame thoughts…
(on his shootout goal…)
WILLIAMS: “I was just down there with Quickie [Jonathan Quick] for a second, and he told me to just do what I do. I was thinking shot the whole way. I wasn’t going to deke and lose the puck. I, at least, had to make a shot at it. I had two earlier this year that I didn’t score on. I just had to put a smile on my face, and whatever happens, happens. I was able to make the shot.”
(on players’ awareness of the 10-game losing streak in Calgary…)
WILLIAMS: “I was aware of it. Coach made us aware of it. This hasn’t been a very successful barn for us. Unfortunately we have up the late lead, but we got the extra point.”
(on going 2-0-1 to start the trip…)
WILLIAMS: “We have to make that next step. Today was a statement game. We won. We weren’t at our best at times, but we need to keep pushing forward. Hopefully this is something big for us, to start.”
