Scott Parse will miss his 34th consecutive game tonight, as part of the recovery from the hip surgery he had in November. Parse continues to skate, post-practice, but he’s still at least a few weeks away from being close to returning to game action, Terry Murray said.
MURRAY: “I’m not keeping track personally, but the updates I get are that he’s progressing very well. That’s Kinger [trainer Chris Kingsley] coming to me, maybe once a week, and just saying, `Everything is great, he’s coming along.’ He’s still quite a ways away.”
Too bad he got hurt, he is an excellent 2 way player and his stats bare that out. In the 5 games he played with Kopi, and Brown he was a plus 5 and that line was absolutely flying, and Kopi and Brown had a lot of room to maneuver…cant wait til he returns! Good luck in you rehab scooter !

I really like Parse….maybe the only pure goal scorer that the Kings employ.
when he gets back the Kings management will have a decision to make for sure….I still remember a goal he scored last year right above the slot (PP I think) that came across his body and he just “roofed” that thing…beautiful…not a lot of that this year.
Moller may be the only thing close…?

This guy has quite a bit to prove to me in the NHL. The first few games he was hardly involved in the play at all, it seemed, but he did score 1 goal and three assists in just 5 games. Still, he has never produced consistently over and lengthy stretch of games, and with his size durability is definitely an issue. Kopi has played over 300 consecutive games, for example, so for me Parse has yet to prove anything.

@Player-X,
Consistency was TM’s complaint about him last year also.

@Banez81, He IMO is way overrated he does not remind me of that goal scorer he is a ok third liner more of a fouth liner if you ask me. He tries his hardest but he just isnt what every one is making him out to be. I wish he would prove me wwrong but nothing I have seen in his entire career points to him doing that or being the guy alot of people think he is. Thats just my thoughts on him.

Get better soon Parsley.

I don’t really see him as all that talented. With the likes of Loktionov and Schenn he’s like another Zeiler to me. I can see him taking the place of Westgarth but that’s about it. I’d take Sturmy over Parse any day. From watching Sturmy and being on a semi bad knee the guy is pretty quick, got good hands and is a vet. Parse seems like he just skates around out there. Yeah he goes to the net but that’s your job as a winger.

@Hat trick, Zeiler is terrible….Parse is better than that bust…in the future our fourth line should be Parse Lewis Richardson
Schenn and Loktionov wil take over as 2nd and 3rd line centers

@Paul G, Yeah I know Zeiler isn’t all that but I’m trying to say he’s like Zeiler in his role with the team IMO. I’d rather have Stolly down on the 4th than Parse.

@Hat trick, Zeiler? Parse is so much better its not even worth discussing. The only way Parse leaves here is via trade, he will not be waived or released.

@puck73, He may be better than Zeiler but not by much. I say trade him. There’s really no room left for him.

@Hat trick, no room for him? I’d say that MAYBE next year, but who’s in his way this year?

@Hat trick, Well let’s see there’s Loktionov, Sturm, Handzus (when he gets bumped up).

@Hat trick,
What about frolov’s replacement… Alexi sucks… Zues with 4 million a year may be hard to trade rather lose him to free agency. As for Zieler lol he’s done no more call ups he’s gone. And Parse hasn’t played enough see him next year maybe Playoffs this year. I see a trade at the deadline I say Alexi and Harrold for somebody like Strum. I dont see any big names assuming the kings make the Playoffs this year being traded.

@puck73, I would trade parse for 2 used water bottles and a puck bag he isnt really worth much small inconsistant I mean thats my opinion of the guy Stoll is much better waive westy trade harold and parse and poni for either a decent winger or a pick sturm on one leg is better than any of those guys.

When Parse gets back, Loktionov will be moved to 2nd or 3rd line.

How old is he ? Like 28
The guy was never that great so if this is what people think will change the teams fortunes your gonna keep waiting.
