Morning in Glendale

A couple important notes on tonight’s game. One, it’s a 5 p.m. Pacific time start. Two, hope for a quick ending on that Oregon-OregonState basketball game this afternoon. It precedes the Kings game, but if the basketball game runs past 5 p.m., the Kings’ telecast will be shown on a slight tape delay. For instance, if the basketball game ends at 5:15 p.m., FSN will then show the first puck drop, and “catch up” to live action during the first intermission. Just a heads up there.

Now, here’s this season’s final morning view of sun-splashed Glendale, through a dirty window. The arena is on the right, and on the left is a big shopping/restaurant complex. When I first came to the arena, about six years ago, it was surrounded by nothing but parking lots and empty land (the football stadium next door was still under construction). Some life is starting to emerge in the surrounding areas, but not a ton…
