Kings 3, Coyotes 1

The Kings, who had totaled two goals in their previous three games, scored their third goal of the first period with 6:27 remaining. Alec Martinez skated to a puck near the left boards and one-timed it toward the net and beat Bryzgalov, short side, to put the Kings up 3-0.

The three-goal lead lasted only 52 seconds, as Taylor Pyatt, after a battle along the boards, picked up a loose puck near the top of the right circle, turned and fired. With traffic directly in front of Quick, Pyatt’s shot got deflected in by Lee Stempniak in as the Coyotes pulled within 3-1 with 5:35 remaining in the period.

Anyone else think it is funny that the team which is owned by the NHL, gets all the calls in its favor.

If the NHL is so worried about overturning the ruling on the ice, why not go to a system like the NFL has and let the refs overturn their own decisions?

@Nitrohockey, Anything that takes Mike Murphy bias crap out of the loop works for me.

@Nitrohockey, wouldn’t make a damn difference in regards to the Kings. They get zero respect!

Overall looked great. Seemed to take a step back a little after the huge hit on Poni, but settled down a bit. These guys should be playing angry, that’s Kings hockey at it’s best. When they hit and get nasty, they tend to dominate.

What a BS call on the goal! If they aren’t allowed to review foot in the crease, or goalie contact…WTF were they reviewing??? And why isn’t Quick saying something about the guy in the crease? A big FU to all the NHL brass…get your crap together before yout turn off new fans for being bush league.

And to Jim Fox, I love you man but that was NOT a high hit on Poni…that used to be called great hockey hit, now everyone freaks out on solid hits if they do any kind of damage. if he hit his head at all it’s Poni’s fault for not keeping his head up.
