    Any chance we can figure out the PP? I love this team but really…tellmeY is so bad?

    [Reply]

    Jer4kings Reply:

    @tellmeY, Our powerplay definitely needs some work. We need someone in front of the net more often.

    [Reply]

    goldielocks Reply:

    @tellmeY, Yup. PP is not only for the opportunity to score the goal but also to keep momentum on their own side. When the Kings failed to do so again, Yotes visibly started to come back. That’s what killing this team right now. I just don’t understand PP coach still has his job because he has done nothing to improve it.

    [Reply]

    robert Reply:

    @tellmeY, When you watch other teams, they take the 1 timer shot from the face off dot or below it with a strong pass. We take our 1 timer shots from the point with a soft pass. Just my 2 cents.

    @KDinUT,

    Should probably just do what I did last year at the end of the season, now that I think about it: I can subscribe to FSAz . . . but by the end of the season I would spend almost as much as Center Ice costs for the entire season for just a few games.

    [Reply]

    kinginsaltlake Reply:

    @KDinUT, There’s got be some way we all can get together and protest this blackout rule. They should be BO Avalanche games

    [Reply]

    KDinUT Reply:

    @kinginsaltlake, For my $150 there shouldn’t be ANY blackouts – we don’t live in a state where there is an NHL team. I’m not going to shop at any local sponsors advertising on the ‘yotes games anyway, so what’s the diff? I’m not gonna drive 400 miles to go shopping in Phoenix (nor you close to 700 miles). The blackout rule is ABSURD!

    kinginsaltlake Reply:

    @kinginsaltlake, I feel your pain. It’s lame, but what the hell can we do? Sometimes it’s good to go back to the old school radio ways. Let’s hope the club can get on a streak and make a run at the playoffs.

    Cristobal Reply:

    @kinginsaltlake,

    Said this to you yesterday, but if you missed it. Call and tell them that NHL advertises seeing “every” game your team plays, and if they cannot deliver, demand your money back. You can possibly change to DirecTV? I have DirecTV after having cable for ages and it’s much better.
    Sounds like a shame that it shakes out like that, but that’s the last game in PHO, at least.

    @KDinUT, I have Center Ice and I have seen all games played so far. I looked at the schedule and all games are televised and I emailed center ice and they told me all Kings games are not blacked out. So far so good. I see bob and Jim as well as the biased other announcers when the game is shown via RogersSportsnet or other…Versus. But the only problem I have is I don’t get all games in HD. Oh well. Go Kings!

    Great to see a win, tho the second period is still like the Bermuda Triangle to the Kings. A pretty good effort all around, although when things got tight the Kings reverted to backing in and not clearing the puck when they had a chance… and Quick is falling back into his lapses of concentration once or twice a game like he did last season.
    Lokti looked a bit lose out there and bungled a few plays; he’s not helping that line much so far.
    I have been on Smyth all season for being slow, especially as the game has worn on, so I have to admit he was great tonight, showed decent speed and perserverance throughout. Handzus, however, apart from faceoffs, was totally invisible and always behind the play. He really needs to go; he drags his linemates down.

    And of course the totally predictable and impotent PP. We could have made things MUCH easier on ourselves by scoring on that delay of game with 4 minutes left… so of course we dont even come close. DO NOT put Handzus out on the PP; if you feel you need a body in front, put Johnson there, or put Brown there, someone with some hands… When the puck is loose in the corner or behind the net on the PP, Handzus is too slow to retrieve and it ends up down our end.

    BUT, winning on the road against a good team is always a PLUS, now let’s put a few back-to-back!

    [Reply]

    Cristobal Reply:

    @bbb7,

    I don’t really feel Quick lapsed in concentration, but I don’t feel like he was comfortable. I think everyone is pretty tight and I think they’re kinda expecting something crazy to happen. You’ve got to admit, after being interfered with on the 1st goal and again getting zero love from a revue, Quick’s stomach must have sunk a bit.
    I can’t decide wether goal 1 was bad or not, with the interference, but 3 wasn’t a good one to allow. 2 was pretty much on the defending.

    [Reply]

    Rookie Reply:

    @Cristobal,

    I agree, that was a bad goal. Total interference from the Yotes player and another non call from the zebras on the ice…..

    [Reply]

    poe Reply:

    @Rookie, Just remember, the NHL owns the Yotes and whenever possible, any call by the refs and/or review will go their way. Invariably, the opposite is true for the Kings Great first period by the Kings. If theyy can, and should be able to, play 60 minutes like that, there is no stopping them. They have the talent. Let’s see them use that talent.GKG
