Murray postgame quotes

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

(on whether the video review call impacted the Kings…)
MURRAY: “I think it disrupted the flow of the game. I thought there was pretty good flow going at the beginning there, with both teams skating well. When you take a long break like that, there’s no question that it throws a little bit of a wrench into the gears there for a couple shifts. Then they came right down the ice, off a play we give them, to make a 2-on-1, and now it’s 2-0. It took some momentum away, but I really liked our grit here in this game. I thought the guys stuck with it. They played real hard. There were a lot of pucks to the net. The goaltender saw a lot of pucks. We need to have a better net presence, but the overall attitude was tremendous. I loved the stay-with-it, the grit, the attitude of, `We can get one, we can get two, we can tie this thing up and we can win this thing,’ right through to the very end.”

(on the lack of power-play success…)
MURRAY: “It hurt, absolutely. You can go back over a bunch of games here, through this whole stretch, and the power play could make a difference for you. The penalty killing could lose you a game, and it has. Power plays, in this situation tonight, definitely could have won us the game. We had some real good things going on, with the early power plays, and then as we got deeper into the game, we lost the momentum and the cohesiveness on the power-play groups, to be able to support each other, recover pucks and make plays.”
