After the game, Terry Murray didn’t disclose exactly what is/was bothering Wayne Simmonds, and caused him to miss the final 38 minutes of the game with a lower-body injury, but Murray did offer a rosier-than-expected update on Simmonds’ status…
MURRAY: “Quite honestly, we’ll know better tomorrow. He wasn’t able to come back, as you saw. It was close, though. When I talked to the trainer at the end of the (second) period, he thought he could maybe come back out and give it a try. But he came back, just before we went back out on the ice, and said he’s going to hold him off. We’ll have a better idea tomorrow. … It doesn’t sound too serious, and I’m definitely hoping that. I’ll get more information tomorrow.”
Wow, keep your fingers crossed!

If Simmonds sits, it may give TM reason to juggle the lines again. PLus, we will need WS for Monday’s tilt vs. DAL.

Let’s hope it’s nothing.
and unrelated: Dustin Brown is my favorite player. I love his all-around game; scoring, playing physical, team leader, etc. And I knew he did a lot of great off-ice things for the community and what not. But I never realized what a well-spoken, down to earth guy he is. He seems like the kinda guy I’d love to sit down and have a drink with or somethin’. If i had the dough to get a Kings jersey, he’d be the first one I got.

@Stone, nah, he’s too uptight to drink with. the guy you want to throw back a few with is terry murray.
kidding, kidding–go with greene because he’s already a loud character, and loud guys are the best to drink with, or go with poni–the russians really know how to drink their vodka and have a good time

@steve, bring back the original crown! gold & forum blue looks sooooo good, plus there is that other team that shares the building that has a tradition of winning championships…could it be the color combo? last I checked the kings are 2-0 this season while wearing the throwbacks.

@Original Crown/Silver & Black & Purple.,
I’ll admit those jerseys do look great, but only because we see them once every 40 games. If they were our full time uni’s, everyone would be sick of them after the first month!

@tantrum4, Not me.
good. i really hope it isn’t serious.

Looked quite serious as they were helping him off the ice, so I hope this is good news.

I’m thinking sprained leg perhaps, only a slight one.

From watching the last replay I think they showed on the wrapup show, it may be a sprained knee, as TM saying it’s not too serious. I hope he’s okay sooner, if not later. If he’s out for a couple games, I’d like to see Harry get his chance.

@Kingsfanone, Not gonna happen. Harry is a d-man and TM will use this opportunity to get “Big Bodied” westgarth back on the ice. Poni or brown will take simmers spot. TM loves westy and we have some history with dallas and the ruff stuff. Morrow if he’s playing monday will run someone for sure. Clifford can handle him but I think they have some other guys who like to get nasty so westy will be there to watch from the bench. LOL I hope we get to see Crawford cover his mouth and yell some crap into his hands like he used to do behind the kings bench when he was angry. That would mean the kings win!!!

The replay of the injury sure looked bad, and I wouldn’t have been suprised if they had announced he was done for the year. To hear that the trainer thought he could come back is shocking and encouraging. Hope he’s back soon, but I still don’t expect him to be on this roadtrip.
Shame that it came from an overreaction to a clean hit. If Hall is 5’2″, that’s a dirty hit, but he’s not. He ducked down to try to get past Doughty, and Drew made him pay. I would love the NHL to start fining guys who start fights after a clean hit.

@Kingme20, I like what you mentioned on the fines, but the difficult thing is so many different angles from players line of vision. A guy could look over his shoulder and see his teammate down on the ice and then anything could happen from there. I think that clean big hits will always draw attention just like dirty hits. My thing would be fines on dirty hits for the duration of the injured player is out, with some cap if it were career ending. I also know that the players union would have nothing to do with that though.
