Matt Greene’s postgame thoughts…
(on the game breakdowns…)
GREENE: “It’s mental and execution. It goes hand in hand. We’ve got to play the game, think the game and right now we’re not doing either one on defense. … This game got away from us. That’s it. We’ve got to be more disciplined against a team like that. We’ve just got to be better from everybody.”
(on the frequent penalties…)
GREENE: “We’ve got to be more disciplined. We can’t be in the box the way we were. They’re a good team and they’re going to score goals if you give them opportunities and tonight we did that.”
(on the locker-room mood…)
GREENE: “Down, obviously. You can’t feel sorry for yourself though. We’ve just got to go back at it. We’ve got a lot of games coming up here at home and we’ve got to get ready for that. We’ve got to have a good homestand here, to turn this thing around and hopefully put it back where it was.”
(on the defensive struggles…)
GREENE: “It’s lapses, but over the last 120 minutes we’re just not playing well. That’s something that needs to change right away. If we want to win games, we can’t give up six and seven (goals) on back-to-back nights and expect to win any games.”
