Scouting the Coyotes

A reminder that tonight’s game is a 6 p.m. Pacific start and will be televised locally on Ch. 13. There’s also a free, legal video feed on Yahoo Sports, for those who can’t get the telecast. For the latest on the Coyotes, check out the Arizona Republic game story on last night’s Coyotes-Ducks game, plus a blog item on the Coyotes’ transaction today, in which they called up solid-scoring right winger Brett MacLean from the AHL and assigned defenseman Nolan Yonkman. Goals against from Coyotes in the lineup last season through now…

    Doan 3
    Stempniak 3
    Upshall 3
    Hanzal 2
    Aucoin 2

If you recall, Stempniak had a hat trick in the last game. The first and second line has killed us. Time to show ‘em the new look, 4 lines, Kings.

  3. Wow, I like Eric Belanger but a first line center? Ouch.

I don’t know that any of you are watching (I know it’s still fairly early out west) but Brian Boyle is having quite the game against the Devils tonight.

Seriously though, who cares about Brian Boyle? Just sayin…

@wavesinair, Given that he’s brought up in every thread in which people feel the need to use him as one of three examples of the failure of the system, a fair amount of people.

But even ignoring that, which I do, a lot of Kings fans spend a fair amount of time following prospects from before they’re even drafted and through minors, and don’t necessarily have to drop a player because they don’t work out with the Kings.

The fact that he’s had a goal, a fight, and 6 hits is something that a lot of those people would be interested to hear.

@holly, If we took one of those scientific polls, I bet 1% of Kings fans care. So of those people, yeah, I bet they are interested. Love the Manchester updates though… :)

@LBlocal, And thanks for re-posting my video :) It’s been quite popular today…

@LBlocal, And Clune with two of those and Zeiler with 3 points (1-2)…

@wavesinair, The video production value is top notch and captured the essence of what Horse Face means to all of us.

@holly, Maybe the experiment in moving BB to defense was the wrong approach… Wonder if he has ever played LW?? So far a career year for big #22.

Many of us were Boyle fans out here but felt he never got a fair shake once DL took over.

Wish the Kings got him a skating coach like those trolley dodgers in NYC. He’ll pocket a minimum 25G, 15A, 40pts. (Re: Tonight: It’s the hapless Devils)

Now for your viewing pleasure. I present Horse Face using his best asset. His grille.

  5. Dominick says:

Keep the forcheck going Westy, and have fun.

Someone Knock Doan for a loop (prefferably Clifford since Doan takes exception to physical play).

Concentrate on hitting the entire net Stoll. Don’t aim for a small percentage of it.

    wavesinair Reply:

@Dominick, Why stop at Westy, Clifford and Stoll? I request a rundown of what all the players should do tonight! ;) Seriously though, that would be fun.

    [Reply]

    Dominick Reply:

    @wavesinair,
Westy is the most important element on the 4rth line because we already know what Richie and Lewis can do.

Clifford is the only right winger who can handle Doan physically.

And Stoll’s missing the net will only drive everybody crazy if he continues to miss. I’m also rooting for him to have a big game.

@Dominick, LOL, nice! I want more.

    What's the frequency, Kenneth? Reply:

I’ll bet that’s because it’s the Phoenix feed and the pigopolists think you should be watching the Kings broadcast (which of course you can’t do without satellite or cable.)

Well, I guess JJ isn’t quite “there” yet.
