End of first: Coyotes 4-3

Mercifully, it ends. The Kings’ second goal is now credited to Ryan Smyth, not Justin Williams, if anyone is actually keeping track. Shots were 12-9 in favor of the Coyotes in the first period. [EDIT: The Kings' third goal has now been credited to Marco Sturm, with the assist to Kopitar.]

Now everyone can take a deep breath. It is just like being down 1-0 after 1 period. The team will settle down, the defense will refocus, and then we will beat the Yotes. Most teams would be out of the game after having 4 goals scored against them in the first.

Just a side note. Brayden Schenn tied a Canadian record for most goals in a game with 4. The other two players…Simone Gagne and a little known guy by the name of Mario Lemieux.

1. Can he play defense?

2. If so, can we get him here for the 2nd period?

Obviously a great performance by Schenn today and the Kingdom can only hope that he is the equivalent of either one of those great players.

@Arron, It’s the Brayden Schenn show! He’s still eligable to come back after the tournament. Not sure if the Kings would go that route, but he’s almost a lock for next year, for sure.
