World Juniors update

The United States, Canada and Russia — and the teams’ respective Kings prospects — are back in action today in pool-play games in the World Junior Championships. Brayden Schenn and Canada take on the Czech Republic at 1 p.m. Pacific time, followed by Maxim Kitsyn and Russia against Sweden at 4 p.m. and Derek Forbort and the United States against Slovakia at 5 p.m. Canada is coming off Sunday’s 6-3 victory over Russia — Schenn had one goal and one assist while Kitsyn had a goal — while the United States is coming off a 3-2 overtime win over Finland.

Really almost all top players in the nhl have played this tourny its just like most canadian born players go through juniors and most US born players go through college hockey to get to the pros its like a right of passage.

@kevin, Agreed, but in Canada, and the U.S. less than 1% of hockey players make it too the worlds. The percentage is higher for some other countries, but not by much.
