Shots were 9-8 in favor of the Kings in the first period. The Ducks had a couple quality net-front chances early, and the Kings’ line of Ryan Smyth, Jarret Stoll and Justin Williams also generated a couple scoring chances. Each team went 0-for-1 on the power play.

Yet, despite those chances by the Stoll line, they seemed to start slow. Smyth in particular was fumbling the puck at least twice I saw. All-in-all a solid period.

@xeropoint, Could very well be the quality (or lack thereof) the ice. Didn’t see any other obvious fumbles by Kings though. I’m talking blatant fumbles, not hiccups.

I don’t like the F3 so high. The gaps to big. The Ducks have 4 players in between the 2 down low and the 3rd man high. The goal we scored , the gap was closer.
