Jonathan Quick’s postgame thoughts…
(on the unlikely shutouts of Detroit and Colorado…)
QUICK: “It’s always good to get a shutout, but tonight it was a great team game. We played a great 60 minutes from start to finish. That Colorado team, that’s a great team. We got a little fortunate that they had a couple guys out of the lineup, but it’s still a strong, solid team. They had won six in a row, so they had a lot of momentum going into the game. I thought we outplayed them for 60 minutes, and that’s the reason we won.”
(on the important efforts of Brown and Scuderi…)
QUICK: “We’ve come to almost expect that from Brownie. He played so well. He seems to be doing that quite frequently. Scudsy, same thing. He’s been playing great all season. It’s good to see him get rewarded like he did tonight. He told me that he was trying to pass that puck though, I think. [laughs] No, but it’s good to see him put up two points there.”
(on limiting Colorado’s chances…)
QUICK: “Coming into the game, I was kind of expecting to see a little more action than I did, because of how talented they are offensively. But we played a really gritty road game, kept their chances to a minimum. The PK was playing really well, and they’ve been on a six-game win streak but then all of a sudden, they hit that and it could be a little frustrating. But the team played well and we deserved the two points tonight.”
