Tonight’s lineup set

Terry Murray said Alexei Ponikarovsky will play the second-line right-wing spot, alongside Ryan Smyth and Jarret Stoll. The fourth line will be Brad Richardson, Trevor Lewis and Kevin Westgarth. Murray said Drew Doughty and Jack Johnson would likely start the game as a pair, but he wasn’t certain about the other two pairs.

Murray also estimated that Willie Mitchell, whose status was initially announced as week-to-week, might be out for two weeks.

Why doesn’t someone in the King organization tell us straight out how long a player will likely be out for? And also the type of injury, since the injury will be revealed when the player suits up anyway. Ridiculous!

@theKingsNeedTogettoughanddropthegloves, LOL. I suggest you move to another NHL city and root for that team, so that you can say the same thing about that team as well. Face it, it’s the NHL… they don’t disclose those things unless they have to… and they don’t have to.

@theKingsNeedTogettoughanddropthegloves, All 30 teams in the NHL handle their injury information this way. So there has to be a method to the madness somewhere. Trying to make sense out of it will just drive you mad. Better to just say “Such is life”.

@Dominick, I understand this is NHL policy; can’t confirm that, but the uniformity of application suggests there may be some veracity here.

What the heck is wrong with Mitchell again? And why not leave Poni on the 4th line another game…they had some great shifts last night.

So that’s two right wings on first line and two left wings on 2nd line. Makes sense. Go Kings Go!

@Hockey101, I noticed on that first goal last night in Nashville, Brown came in on right wing and Williams finished the play on left wing.

Hmm. It will be interesting to see how Poni clicks with Stoll and Smyth. He certainly brings a different look than Williams.

    KC23 Reply:

@Choralone, Yeah, that is a bit different, but the Stoll line has been marginal defensively. Gonna be interesting.

yea take Mollar out and bring in Richardson i know alot of fans love this guy and even thank he makes players better this will be a downgrade to the Kings and Richardson will probly turn the puck over in overtime at center ice like last year wow

@leo of pico, The better question is leave Westgarth in and take Moller out!!!

@leo of pico, yeah, I agree…maybe we should simply shoot Richardson the next time he does something foolishly human, like make a bad play.

@leo of pico, LOL, You saying Moller is better defensively than Richardson?

    WOW..

    That’s a bold statement

    leo of pico Reply:

@kylecliffordfan, it might be late but do you think that Richardson has more skills then Moller the Kings have enough shut down guys with few skills and the defensive system that the team plays will help the weaker defensive players they need more skill players

Though call on letting Moller of the lineup when he’s got 3 points in 4 games.
Kid brings a lot of energy to the game, allways has and allways will.

Great in special teams as well.

@Gusten (Sweden) Mollers old coach in junior, Was he always poor in the defensive part of the game coach? Because that’s what he needcs to work on to play in the NHL>

Gusten (Sweden) Mollers old coach in junior Reply:

@kylecliffordfan, Let’s just say that kid knows how to score… but i agree he needs to work on the the defense. Allthough i think that his years in chilliwack did some work to it.

The biggest problem is allways gonna be he’s size, don’t see him growing any more though so the kid needs to just keep working on getting the puck in the net.

@Gusten (Sweden) Mollers old coach in junior, I do appreciate your subjective opinion, however unlike Sweden’s big men like Sundin and Lidstrom, Oscar is tiny and the League has some size.

Oscar is a good player however not totally ready for this level/

thank you for the email and if your really Oscar’s Jr. coach you have been watching and you have witnessed what I have scribed

Gusten (Sweden) Mollers old coach in junior Reply:

@Harty, I totaly agree with you that he’s not a big hockey player but he’s got good strength and his speed compensises for his lack of size.

But you still see that he realy put’s the work in there he is matureing every season. He had a good first year, last season not so good, but he did put in a lot of work last year to get better at his flaws.

This year i think you see a differnt Möller and i think this could be the season were he steps upp the notch to be a good player in the NHL he just need to get some time on the ice.

Where did you coach him in Juniors? I’m an American but lived in Sweden-Taby. (Don’t have a Swedish keyboard with all the letters).

@Crown Royal, Spånga age 12-14 he was one hell of a player back then. He had on goal and one goal only and that was to play the NHL

My son who is an ’85 played in, bland annat, Hammarby’s youth hockey. He played youth bandy in Spanga with Bromsten. He has recently been playing bandy in Russia in the Elite Series.

  7. Harty says:

Richie is better then Oscar Moller, sorry…..bottom line notwithstanding he is bigger, faster, shots better and will get his nose dirty he is nearing twice the player of Oscar.

    kylecliffordfan Reply:

    @Harty, I agree 100% Harty.

Richardson can be trusted at all times during the game and is really good Penalty Killer. Richie will take the body and work for those 50/50 pucks. He is defensively sound and isn’t a risk in his own end. Richardson also has the experience.
