Off the ice today

The Kings stayed off the ice today, electing instead for a team workout at the hotel in St. Louis. The team is scheduled to be back on the ice tomorrow afternoon for practice. The Blues play in Detroit tomorrow night.

There will be some items forthcoming today — including an update this afternoon on Marco Sturm’s medical testing — but here’s another note for the morning. When the Kings went through their 1-6-0 slump last month, they were outscored 12-3 in the third periods of those games. Now, in their recent 4-0-1 streak, they have outscored opponents 7-1 in the third period.
