Kings 1, Sabres 0

Dustin Brown opened the scoring 4:57 into the first period. Brown skated into the Sabres’ zone, took a pass from Anze Kopitar and beat Miller with a high shot to the far post to give the Kings a 1-0 lead. Jack Johnson also got an assist.

The Sabres are looking at a couple possible changes tonight. FINAL: Blue Jackets 5, Kings 3

Rick Nash added an empty-net goal with 38.5 seconds remaining. The Kings suffered their first home loss, after an 8-0-0 start, as they outshot the Blue Jackets 36-25 but gave up the game-winning goal in the final four minutes. More from the locker room to come…

Blue Jackets 4, Kings 3

The Blue Jackets took a 4-3 lead with 3:12 remaining. Brassard made a cross-ice pass to Rick Nash, who went around Davis Drewiske in the left circle and beat Quick with a close-range wrist shot.

Kings 3, Blue Jackets 3

The Kings’ lead lasted less than three minutes. Kyle Wilson’s backhand shot got blocked in front of the Kings’ net, but Jared Boll picked up the rebound and scored on a wrist shot 3:48 into the third period to tie the game 3-3.
