Zeiler clears

According to Bob McKenzie of TSN, who is the king of the waiver-wire transactions, John Zeiler has cleared and will be eligible to join the Kings this morning.

Because it’s a road game — albeit a nearby one — the Kings won’t be on the ice until 11:30 a.m. in Anaheim for their morning skate.

    @VanKingsFan, TM and DL were apparently scratching other body parts when they concocted this idea.

    So Zeiler cleared waivers.

    Is this good or bad news? I ask because 29 other teams took a pass yet we should get excited? Just askin’.

    @Kingsfanone, well, given the pick up rules, is it worth risking chemistry issues for a fourth line energy player?
    Johnny Z will bring the gas, get .5 hits/minute and draw a penalty. Just what a flat team needs.

    Maybe our fourth line has been a little too frilly this season. Go, Johnny go

    @Kingsfanone, I just do not understand why John Z and Peter H have this special place with TM

    Kingsfanone Reply:

    @Garry,

    Last I checked, TM also has a special place for Kompon’s Power Play.

    (opens eyes) It’s still there…….right?

  8. King o' Philly says:

    looks like a borderline desperate move… some kind of a gesture meant to teach the boys a lesson about playing hard, taking bodies on the forecheck, etc… but is it gonna help us WIN?

    we need production from kopi, brown, smyth, williams, DD and JJ.

    that’s it. “your best players gotta play like your best players”.

    that’s our only chance for success.

    I wonder how DL feels since he couldn’t even get a bag of pucks and $1.00 for Zeiler.

    Kingsfanone Reply:

    @DetroitSons1952,

    I believe it was the $1.00 that was the deal breaker.

    There is a big shock! Nobody wanted Zeiler?

    LOL

    Maybe the Kings should follow the rest of the teams in the NHL and get rid of this guy.

    Why not bring up a scorer to play with Kopi? Send King back down and bring up Clune..

    Two up from Manchester and send King back down?

    It’s going to be a rough game tonight. Lets see if King is willing to use his size against Parros..

    These are the games I miss Ivanans believe it or not…

    Why would we want John Zeiler to clear waivers and be on the Kings roster? That’s the last player I would want to see on the ice ever.

    Zeiler trys hard, but i mean all NHL players should. He doesnt have much talent, and i would rather see Cliche come up maybe or anyone else for that matter lol. The kings need to make a trade seriously if this is what it is coming too. Im amazed how without Mitchell and Poni how the kings have played horrible alot of nights.

  18. kylecliffordfan says:

    That would be awesome if he Zeiler does something stupid during the morning skate and Simmer or Clifford injure him (by beating him to the ice), before he gets into our lineup..

    Wishful thinking?

  19. EncinoMan says:

    No sure about this move either. Sure he’s an energy guy, but not much after that.

    I guess we can pencil in the 5-minute major crosschecking penalty now. My only hope is that its Corey Perry that he crosschecks….

    Belexes Reply:

    @EncinoMan,

    Yeah, and pencil in the 5 minutes in the box for M Greene, W Simmonds, or other teamate that ends up cleaning up the mess.

    Congrats to Z – Hopefully he will add some entertainment value on the forth line (and maybe draw a couple penalties).

    No offense to Zeiler i thought he was a little too spastic on the ice but hey i guess you might as well throw in everybody and anybody who they can think of to try and get the team on track. how much more worse can it get? :)
