Play with passion kings, and watch the penaltys !

Looks like the view is from the Marriott Chateau Champlain or something. If you have some time today, try to head to Schwartz’s on St-Laurent Blvd for their world famous smoke meat sandwich.

@Sev The Kings Fan From Montreal, I think the org using Marriott for their travel lodgings might have something to do with the huge thing looming over the STAPLES Center…

@passemoilapuck, The hotel choice might also be due to the fact that the players can walk to the arena from the hotel. I stayed there when I went to see the Kings play Mtl in Jan ’09. The team was there for two nights and it was cool to see the team around the hotel: Quincy having dinner with his parents, Coach getting coffee at Starbucks, the players heading out on foot to the arena a couple of hours before the game. On the negative side, with the wind chill it was -17C when I went out to dinner after the game. And as I recall the outcome of the game was decided by calls made by the refs.

Let’s cut to the chase. Don’t waste any time on Ste Catherine’s tonight; go directly to Club Wanda’s à la coin de Rue de la Montagne et Boulevard de Maisonneuve. On peut me remercier plus tard.

And you can also try the Ribs across the Bell Center at Baton Rouge, you won’t regret it!

@Sev The Kings Fan From Montreal,
I went to a Canadiens game when visiting Montreal in 1992 at the venerated Montreal Forum! The atmosphere was awesome!

Parev, inchbess ess? [Hello, how are you?]
P.S. How come you’re a Kings fan? Was it Gretzky? Was it your connection with Armenians from L.A.?

@King John,
Many things, long story
I do have cousins in LA and I do visit LA 2-3 times a year to see them and watch some games. I’m a hardcore fan. I watch all 82 games LOL

@Սեւակ,
I’ve been a fan since 1970 when I was a kid!
The Yotes won their 7th game in a row and now are ahead of the Kings in the standings by 1 point. They have played one extra game more than the Kings. So we need this win tonight. That point last game was huge to miss out on and we have to start a win streak right now!

Best view so far this season! Go Kings Go!

Any info about line combinations? There was no info on them from practice yesterday so I assume they were kept the same as the starting combos from the last two games…’
The reason I ask is that there were major shakeups in the third period against Ottawa. Simmonds replaced Brown with Kopitar and King, and Brown skated with Lewis and Richardson, in the third period after the power play ended.
The change is particularly interesting since (1) Jim Fox quoted Terry Murray as having said, before the game, that Murray needed more from the Kopi line, and (2) Murray put the first line out intact to start the power play in the third period (there was a carry-over 1:50 left) instead of having Handzus replace King.
All year the power play first unit has been Brown with Kopi and a player form another line, usually Zus. He has not once this season, that I have seen, kept a line intact for a power play.
As I recall, immediately after the power play failed, he started using Simmonds with Kopi and kept it that way for the third.
Also, Brown was on the bench with the pulled goalie.
Was Murray making a statement? Was he double-shifting Brown while sitting out Westgarth and just got caught with Brown tired when he needed Kopi’s line out there, liked what he saw and experimented?
Very curious to see what lines he uses tonight…

@Player-X, Actually Lotk was on the first pp for a while when he was up.
King and Martinez are very comfortable working the pp together in Manchester so you might see that.
Of all the experimenting on the first line LW, I think Lotk might of had the most upside. King is far too slow afoot imho.

@KC23,
I thought King was much better last game, lots of possession time, some good work down low in the offensive zone, but he doesn;t get enough shots on net…
Thanks for the fact about Lokti, you were right about that. It would have been more accurate to say that Kopi is paired with one linemate and then the guy from anoterh line.
My main point is that it seemed like a pretty clear demotion for Brown, but no ink on it anywhere so I wondered if I am seeing htings or is it something that is the start of pattern…

I’m going to the game. Looking forward to see Kopitar and Doughty live!! GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ringo, Uh, it WAS illegal, so technically WE were the cheats.. Though one of those OT winners was scored with a foot in the crease..
I thought you meant the last game when that guy mugged Doughty to score the winner. THAT was cheating.
ringo Reply:

@Sam, but really the habs had nothing so they went into that little black bag and pulled out the illegal curve if they lost that game they were done, i mean come on what is that illegal curve going to do its mcsorley not a snipper, though i have to say, when your in the finals you really had no buissnes with any thing even close to being illegal. and yea, i remember that play dd was mugged!!
So we’re going to meet a hot goalie again….
Montreal had two potential #1 goalies last year (remember Halak? –who is doing great in St. Louis now), but the Canadiens went with Price (which seemed strange after what Halak did in the playoffs) and he (Price) is doing really well. I guess a team can’t carry two #1′s….
All teams say we’re one of the best out West so they seem to be up and ready to play us hard….

The family and i willbe on the road tonight butmonitoring the game via smart phone. Can’t wait for Saturday and seeing the Kings beating the Blackhawks live at Staples! We need a big win tonight so GKG!!!

@Michael_DD8, Helene (the Ducks fan) is picking up her Kings coverage because (1) the Ducks suck and (2) of all the attention and praise that Rich is getting for his Kings coverage – coverage that is impartial and objective I might add. Helene wouldn’t know impartiality if it hit her in her Ducks visor and knocked her over, spilling her Ryan Getzlaf coffee mug onto her Teemu Selanne area rug.

She also reported that Muzzin will replace Harry previous game, but I did not see that happen. I would rather wait to see the line up posted on this website, since this is the real LA KINGS INSIDER!

Love that town! Have a smoked meat sandwich and poutine for me while you’re there…
Also, see if you can beat Bob Miller’s record for Hotdogs during a broadcast (is it like seven or something like that???).
Kings will have a tough time against the Habs as they always do. I hope Bernier comes up big and the Kings beat red-hot Carey Price and Les Canadien…
Alors!
