Even Kovalev thinks our goal should have counted…

Kovalev also gladly accepted the breaks the team got. “A win is a win,” he said. “We needed that little luck at the end. We got it. And we got the win.”

The Zebras sold our game!! It sucks, because they always do us wrong in CAnada.

    @Harry,

    Maybe that’s true.
But even if it is, I don’t want the baggage associated with such a reality.

    I want a Kings’ Cup…
When they win, they will overcome such a hosing without hesitation.

    Game over.
    First 20 games:
    13 Wins/ 7 losses
    26 Points
    8-1 At home/ 5-6 On road

    Multiply by four…
    104 Point pace
There will be extra home games to come…

    Not bad at all.
    Should be better.
Two big horses out, but are going to come back soon (Mitchell/Poni).

Move on/ second quarter (21 games) to go…

Thanks Rich, nice to see the Ottawa media acknowledge the Sens “lucky breaks”, however made no mention of the joker behind it all in Eric Furlatt. Is there currently any system in place where referee’s are subject to performance review? I would at least hope this guy issues a formal apology to the Kings organization or the NHL, and show some accountability. Though calls like this do happen occasionally, 2 in one game where the Kings end up losing by a single goal is unacceptable. I know people will say Johnson and Greene’s play was unacceptable as well, and I agree, but we still played well enough to win despite defensive breakdowns.

@Niko, The referees in the NHL are assessed all the time. I guarantee you that referee hears about it today. But bottom line is it doesn’t change a thing. Moving on to Montreal.

Yup, Ottawa got the “lucky breaks” as the papers say….

This was their first home game after the tragedy, and with Kovalev’s 1000th point at 10:00 and Neil beating Westgarth they say with a left, and hockey-crazy Canada, etc., it was a feel-good much-looked-for win for them. At least all this didn’t happen against a team we hate!
