Kings 2, Senators 1

The Kings’ first power-play goal in three games gave them a 2-1 lead, 7:52 into the second period. Justin Williams skated in and took a sharp wrist shot from the high slot, and Ryan Smyth, running traffic in front of Leclaire, tipped the puck into the net.

    @BakoCAkingsCondorsGuy, Might be the Williams clan. Toronto and Ottawa are apparantly close to home for him, he was known to buy 20+ tickets for family.

    Not watching the game, Geezer line is all together on the power play?

    King John Reply:

    @LomitaKingsFan,

    No, since Stoll plays the point, they’re using Simmonds now (no Parse). Dwight King isn’t on the PP, so Handzus is on the 1st unit.

    @King John,

    Smythe was in the box for the first pp. team needed to make adjustments.

    Congrats Kompon, you made an adjustment, you put Simmonds and Williams out there and 1 went in…Now that wasnt so hard was it ?

    Westy must’ve been reading our blog questioning why he even plays. He’s been so involved the last week or two.

    Westie held his own; he didn’t win, but he wasn’t hurt either. He does like it! I expected he’d go with Carkner. Westie’d been better off had he been able to switch hands, but Neil kept his balance better. Westie has a few things to learn yet…

    puck73 Reply:

    @mcsorleyfan, He does, but that being said him and Clifford are a big upgrade from the enforcer known as Raitis.

    mcsorleyfan Reply:

    @puck73, that’s what I’ve been saying all season… If Westie ever gets his AHL productivity going at the NHL level, it’ll be something pretty special..

    That would be cool. Show’em what you can do kid!

    Agame Reply:

    @Badger57, I don’t know if I want that. He is playing good on that 3rd line. 5min would be too much work for others. Maybe he can dance last 2min of the game!

    Foxy said this may be Westgarth’s first test against an established NHL heavyweight… I’m not getting that; Neil’s more of a middleweight IMO. He’s listed as 6’1″ and 210 Lbs. I figured Carkner for a better match, and expected we may see Clifford vs Neil. We shall see what the 3rd brings. Go Kings Go!!
