Stars postgame reaction

Over in the Stars’ dressing room, they weren’t real happy about the officiating. The Dallas Morning News’ Mike Heika details it in his game story as well as a blog item, and here are some additional postgame quotes from the Stars’ room…

COACH MARC CRAWFORD
(on the game…)
CRAWFORD: “Well, it’s an emotional game, and your players have to play with edge and usually they [the referees] let them play. We got on the wrong side of a couple of calls tonight and that’s going to happen. Hopefully sometime down the line it evens out.”

(on his team’s scoring opportunities in the third period…)
CRAWFORD: “I thought we did a lot of pretty good things to generate, we had a couple of chances. We had that great chance by Loui [Eriksson] and he missed it. Usually that’s money in the bank with the puck on his stick in that situation, but he put it over the net and we didn’t get it done.”

ADAM BURISH
(on the physical play…)
BURISH: “These are two good teams. I mean, it was a fun hockey game to play in. This game will make us better down the road, I’m confident of that. It almost had a playoff kind of feel to it, just the excitement in the building, and the energy. You put two good teams in a 1-1 battle…you’re going to get a little nasty. You’re going to get a little edgy in games.”

BRAD RICHARDS
(on his team’s low-scoring efforts in the past two games…)
RICHARDS: “Well these guys [the Kings] play it that way. It’s going to be tight. You have to be patient. The power play is going to have to get some chances, which we didn’t until the end. It didn’t do the job for us to get some momentum. [They have a] good goaltender. You have to work for what you get. Special teams, in the end, they scored the second goal on the power play and ended up winning it. So we knew it was going to be a tight game. We’re not expecting to come in here and score five goals. If we did, it would be great, but we got to start winning some 2-1 games.”
