    Yikes, seems like a poor choice of music to be playing in the locker room. Whatever works I guess. Hopefully they mix it up and play some rock, alternative, and pop as well.

    Seems like Brown and Kopitar looked annoyed by the song, but it looks like the rest of the young guys enjoy it.

    Can you imagine what the Devils locker room was like. If things weren’t bad enough, looks like Pairse went down with a knee injury. I think it is safe to say you can write off the Devils this year.

    I think Simmer looks spent because he’s not 100% yet and he really did leave everything on the ice. Talk about a true WARRIOR! I have to get a jersey with #17 on it, cuz I love the way he has stepped up his game.

    a few observations:

    glad to see fans finally showing rob blake some class and appreciation. he looked glad too, and more than a little relieved….

    boy there isn’t ANYONE on this team who doesn’t look dangerous or who isn’t playing well. i have never seen nearly so much depth on the kings before…or so many youthful skilled players on any team in the league…what a stoker!

    even though they didn’t score…the top line created a lot of quality chances for themselves and played great defense…richardson doesn’t look out of place there at all–he’s really elevated his game in the last couple of seasons….

    maybe i’m the only one…but i was just a little embarrassed for king’s fans as well as for matti–an expresso machine? after all he did for the kings…? staying with them through thick and thin for 11 years through some very hard times and being a great player and captain and ALWAYS bringing 110% for the team….

    matti was always such a class act and he still is. i mean, am i tripping or didn’t they give luc a new car among other expensive gifts…? obviously luc is LUC but if you’re going to honor a player with their own night and make a big deal about it…i don’t know….

    maybe it’s just me…i’m broke but i would have thrown in a few bucks and i’m willing to bet a lot of other long time fans would have too.

    maybe i’m wrong…but i was embarrassed. am i off base here?

    I’ve been a fan of the Kings since 67-68. I never been more impressed then I was last night with their play against the Devils. Total team effort to score this win. My desire is that they keep all there young players on the roster that includes Loki, Clifford, Schenn and Muzzin. The energy that these young men display is very impressive. In all the years that I watched the Kings, I have never been so impressed with their young talent as I am today.

    Kovalschmuck is like a lot of highly overpaid athletes, in my opinion, with loads of that sense of entitlement they get because everyone around them is a yes man and they always get what they want. Hey, he got his money he wanted, so I can’t fault him on that count.

    I can say that we have a much better team because that selfish snob is not here. Rob Blake doesn’t hold a candle compared to what Kovupchuk has done, IMHO.

    So the kings are close to 1st in nhl after one month, why is everyone wanting to change most things around the kids (Clifford, Schenn and Muzzin) and out there looking so early for a big name to get us deep into April and May?

    Were fine wait till December and look at who is looking to ditch someone really cheap, minimal trade and one year contract with the hopes of more to follow.

    Relax all and let November play out the same as Oct, can you imagine if the next month has the same results, I wold only suggest it would be beyond most of your 1st thoughts for the season.

    Nice inside look into a pristine professional dressing room. I’ve noticed a real sense of camaraderie amongst they players on the bench and especially in this video. I wonder what the room looks like after a loss.

    Most professional clubs listen to music in the rooms and music is chosen hierarchically. As to who gets to chose that’s up to the players and their particular standing with other team mates. I personally would have chosen something more apropos like- Highway to Hell.

    Irrespective of how we all feel about “Kovi”, they guy is going to pick his game up and get it going at some point. He will finish in the top 10 in goals. And no…..I’m not a Devils fan.

    As to his reasoning for coming to L.A. because of his wife’s desire to see L.A. that smacks of disrespect for another professional organization. Perhaps the fact that they just got beat by L.A. clouded his judgement but he should not have said that. This organization poured a lot of effort into trying to make a deal with his camp and for him to return to L.A. and rifle off that excuse is pathetic. He obviously learned his P.R. skills from some post- Cold War bureaucrat.

    Are most of you that old where you think hip hop is unevolved music to you? I think you better wake up and smell, I mean listen the beats! It’d be way cooler if the Kings skated out to some banging dubstep than the crap they play now. At least at the Ducks games they play Rage Against the Machine and Tool, and other stuff that doesn’t suck. Although I’ll trade the crappy music at Staples for the Kings and winning any day, just sayin…

    [Reply]

    MiniKing Reply:

    @Justin, hip hop is unevolved. I’m totally surprised that the world did not get the meaning behind “I’m on a boat” song. Those two white guys just totally made a mockery of rap. It was a hit song and feat. T-Pain. Little did T-Pain know that they are making fun of him too. They just made a song about something stupid, dropped a random beat and feat T-Pain and it was a hit (Basically, thats what rap is in a nutshell). That’s what they went out to prove and they did it, just to make fun of Hip Hop. But it seems like no one got it and the WhiteBoys from SNL are laughing all the way to the bank.

    P.S That song they were playing in the locker room also features T-Pain
    and the “song” is also about the same thing every hip hop song is about…Money!

    That Bed Intruder song is also proof that hip hop is silly. They autotuned some guys interview and its a hit. Literally top 10 on itunes. Gotta be kidding me.

    [Reply]

    Stagger Reply:

    @MiniKing,

    Yes, for the most part the general music buying public are sheep. They will buy whatever pre-packaged, repetitive, soulless P.O.S that is thrown inside their cage and devour it instantly, only to poop it out and be done with it in a week or two when the next pre-packaged, repetitive, soulless P.O.S is thrown in.

    That being said, there IS innovative Hip-Hop music being made, just like there is in every other genre of music. There are talented musicians out there working their fingers to the bone, with almost nothing to show for it. It’s a shame when a natural musician is passed over for someone with washboard abs that can only stay on key with the help of pro-tools. IMHO this is a true sign of what a shallow society we live in. Dig deeper people, the rewards are big!

    Unfortunately, most people never get past the scum on the surface, which is somewhat understandable as this is what the “money men” in the industry are pushing at us. It’s the easy to listen to, easy to get sick of, high turnover money makers that are presented to the general music buying public. And the sheep suck it up like Quick sucks up a shot from the point! There, I made it Kings related. :)

    @Stop the Puck, The East has always gotten more love than the West. It’s unfortunate but true. I kind of like being the underdog, the least respected, it keeps the drive (and sauce….LOL…that ones for you Jack Handy) hot.

    @Stop the Puck,

    What being #3 in the rankings is bad?

    Detroit is absolutely ridiculous right now, St. Louis Halak is being well Halak of the playoffs. 3 is fair.
