Chicago 3, Kings 1

The Kings had another handful of prime scoring chances in the third period, but Patrick Sharp gave the Blackhawks a 3-1 lead with 2:05 remaining. Sharp carried the puck into the Kings’ zone, put a speed move on Rob Scuderi to get to the net and slipped the puck past Bernier.

    Scuderi got used…then Bernier got used.

    Like Fox says…you miss the poke check, look for the puck in the net.

    What is the blocked shot count…again I dunno if it has just been great team defense/bad luck/bad shooting choices…but man…

    Scuderi is awful. Missed the net all game and watches Sharp score. This is why this team is not a true contender, they can’t contend with the top teams in the west

    @Bob, which is why the Kings beat the Canucks 2 times already correct? The Hawks got lucky with all the post hitting and the puck just missing the line.

    Two things to say:
    1. Bernier sucks. He lets in at least a bad goal every game. He does not look confident playing
    2. Simmonds gives a half effort every night. He shows up for a shift or two and then is worthless the rest of the game. he has played one good period all season when he was demoted.

    @danny, the second goal he let in is a big goal and one that should have never gone in. The third goal was a bad play by him, same play as in Calgary…he needs to make those saves (period)

    Jeff Reply:

    @danny, He did not have to be great tonight, we just needed him to be good. Team defense was good other than the last goal…he ended up being less than decent.

    @Jeff,

    Some nights that happens. Calling him terrible? Little over the top. Anemic fans man. If we aren’t complaining about Quick, it’s Bernier.

    @Jeff,

    if you wanted to win 1-0 he had to be great not good. your not going to win scoring 1 goal even if quicks in net.

    Bob, ease off the hate against Scuderi. He’s been solid and made a bad read. It happens. Calm down have a brew and be happy the way the Kings flat outplayed the Hawks in the 3rd period. Couple of bounces went against the Kings (3posts), but overall the Kings threw everything at Turco and he stood on his head. Overall they could’ve won the game with some better bounces and timely saves, but the effort was definitely there.

    I was at the game. Kings dominated most of the play, just didn’t win. Simmonds had a great game, as did they all. What cost us the game: Turco. He was en fuego tonight. Oh well. On to Dallas…
