Murray postgame quotes

Terry Murray’s postgame thoughts…

(on the success against Minnesota’s power play…)
MURRAY: “We didn’t do anything special. That’s the way our penalty-killing has been going, and the structure we’ve been showing all year. We try to do a real good job up ice, and kind of serpentine back through the neutral zone to put constant pressure on the puck. We wanted to take the puck out of the hands of Cullen. We know that they like him to bring the puck up the ice, and if we can force it on the boards or force it away from him, then we read and pressure from there.”

(on the five-minute penalty kill…)
MURRAY: “It was huge. It was a great special-teams night for us. The power play came through, the penalty killing was outstanding. We had a great second period. I thought we started to get more of that shot mentality. We had incredible offensive-zone play and continued on in the third period. We hung in there. Then in the shootout, the pressure is on again, for Stoll to continue in, and he makes a great shot for the shootout to continue.”

(on the Kings’ power-play success…)
MURRAY: “The part that has been troubling for us has been recovering some pucks and having more of a shot mentality. I thought we started to get more of that tonight and when you get a 5-on-3, I wish we would do on a 5-on-4 what we do on a 5-on-3. It is an automatic shot. There is no hesitation on it.”
