Greene update

There’s no true update on Matt Greene’s status, other than confirmation that he will be examined again before/during tomorrow night’s game. Given that Greene has been practicing, and says he feels no discomfort in his shoulder, it’s almost certain that he will be approved for contact, meaning that his return to the Kings’ lineup should be only a matter of days away. Here’s what Terry Murray said today…

MURRAY: “He’s anxious to get going, chomping at the bit, and if the doctors give him the green light, then it’s just a matter of a couple more practices and he will be ready to go. We’ll take him on the road and get him prepared through extra work, and we’ll make that decision as we go through.”

I tried to get Murray to bite on the idea of Greene returning to the lineup on Saturday, at Colorado, but he wouldn’t go with it. It seems safe to project that Greene would either play Saturday or Monday, at Minnesota.

MURRAY: “I’m not going to get painted into one game like that, but we’re going to bring him on the road trip. I think it’s safe to say that there will be playing time on the road trip.”
