Tough call?

Everyone is remaining tight-lipped about a possible return date for Matt Greene, but it certainly appears that it is on the horizon, and perhaps even likely to take place early in the five-game road trip that starts Thursday in Phoenix (the following game is Saturday at Colorado). In terms of which player will come out of the lineup when Greene returns, it’s fairly obvious that it will be either Jake Muzzin or Davis Drewiske. Through four games, Muzzin has certainly done nothing to embarrass himself at the NHL level, and Drewiske is coming off what I felt was one of his strongest games ever, on Friday against Vancouver. I asked Terry Murray today whether he would have a tough choice coming up when Greene returns.

MURRAY: “Whiskey [Drewiske] has played well. I like a lot of Whiskey’s game right now. He’s coming back from a finish that wasn’t where it needed to be, and he’s showing a lot of confidence in his play. It’s not going to be a hard call. Greener will be in whenever he gets the green light and we feel that he’s physically on top of his game.”
