As posted before, the line of Anze Kopitar, Andrei Loktionov and Dustin Brown will get another look tomorrow night. That line didn’t generate any points Tuesday — although Kopitar was on the ice for a goal during a line change — but Murray said he said enough against Atlanta to warrant another look…
MURRAY: “There were some shifts that were very good. I liked the skill level, the plays that they were trying to create, and I want to give them another opportunity to follow up on that effort.”
It was also be another opportunity for Loktionov, who made his season debut Tuesday and was credited with two shots on goal in just more than 17 minutes of ice time. Murray said he felt that Loktionov, a natural center, didn’t have a problem with the transition to left wing.
MURRAY: “In the way we play, it matters, but in some situations it’s an easy adjustment, an easy read. Kopi is very smart, very intelligent in adjusting to where his wingers are, to get to that position. It’s not a big concern. I think they read off each other very well. The only part of it is that Loktionov, as a center, would have the puck on his stick a lot more, and earlier, and attacking. So we’ll live with that right now, and hopefully there can be some chemistry developing.”
