Fransson to KHL

The Kings announced today that defenseman Johan Fransson has been loaned to SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL. The move isn’t really much of a surprise. There were reports, out of Russia, about mutual interest between Fransson and the KHL a couple weeks ago, and Dean Lombardi said that Fransson was taking some time to figure out whether he wanted to stay and try to develop himself in the U.S. Fransson is 25 years old and has a family back in Sweden, so he’s not your typical minor-league defenseman. Fransson had signed a one-year contract with the Kings in June.
