Postgame notes (Oct. 10)

— Dustin Brown’s third-period goal (assists to Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty) pulled the KIngs within 2-1, but they couldn’t overcome a second-period shorthanded goal and an early third-period goal and lost to Calgary 3-1.

— The Kings have not won a game in Calgary since Dec. 21, 2005. They’re 0-10 since then and have been outscored 35-14. The Kings have scored a total of five goals in their last six games in Calgary.

— The Kings went 0-for-3 on the power play (and were credited with only one shot on goal) and 4-for-5 on the power play. Through two games this season, the Kings are 1-for-9 on the power play and 8-for-10 on the penalty kill.

— Calgary outshot the Kings 32-22, including 14-7 in the third period.

— Jonathan Bernier, in his first start of the season, stopped 29 of 31 shots.

— Dustin Brown had team-highs with six shots on goal and three hits. Jack Johnson had a team-high four blocked shots.

— Anze Kopitar led all Kings players in ice time at 23:33. Drew Doughty led all Kings defensemen at 23:25.

— The Kings won 29 of 51 faceoffs (57 percent). Jarret Stoll won 11 of 13 while Michal Handzus lost 11 of 15.
