Not great hospitality

Perhaps the Scotiabank Saddledome will be more kind to the Kings than the Pengrowth Saddledome was? It’s the same arena, but with a name change, and the sight of it hasn’t been kind to the Kings since the lockout. The Kings have lost nine consecutive games to the Flames in Calgary and were outscored by a margin of 32-13 in those nine games. In fact, the Kings have totaled four goals in their last five games in Calgary, including last season’s twin 2-1 losses here. The Kings’ last win in Calgary was on Dec. 21, 2005, a 5-2 victory. Only Dustin Brown remains from that Kings team.

Coincidentally, the Kings’ first two games this season are in arenas that hosted Olympic hockey. Vancouver’s arena hosted the tournament this year while the Saddledome hosted the 1988 Olympic hockey tournament.
